Oral history records that George Manson (1) took up Glen Farm at this time. Glen Farm consisted of the Kawarau river flats below Pipeclay Gully and Templars Hill, from target Gully east to the Bannockburn bridge

2926 1910 George Manson (1) purchased additional land holdings.

As a result of the subdivision of Kawarau Station, George manson (1) purchased the Australian and New Zealand land Company's interest in the Carinmuir runs: 325c of 8,300 acres (3,353 ha) and 325D of 8,920 acrea (3,604 ha). He then went into partnership with the other owner, Mr E Holloway of Dunedin and together they purchased the Nevis run, 339F of 8,630 acrea (3,486 ha) from Mr A C Iverson. This block was added to the Cairnmuir Station and Mr Holloway later purchased Mr Mansons share.

2927 1915 Death of Mrs Emily Manson.

On Tuesday, 24 Aug 1915, Mrs Emily Manson set off by bus from Cromwell for a holiday trip to Dunedin. When the bus stopped at the Clyde Post Office, Mrs Manson went to step off the bus but instead collapsed, falling heavily to the ground. Bystanders quickly picked up Mrs Manson who was found to be dead. She had suffered a heart attack and had died before falling from the coach. She had not had any previous heart trouble. She was buried in the Cromwell cemetery on Friday Aug 24, in the presence of a large gathering of friends. The Rev. W P Rankin officiated at the grave. Mrs Manson was 62 years of age.

On 1 Sep 1922, Mr George Manson (1) died at the age of 84 years. He was buried on 4 Sep 1922 in the Cromwell cemetery, with his wife Emily.
