The owners of the three working coal mines in Bannockburn decided to amalgamate and formed the Bannockburn Coal Company. The owners were : William Robertson & Party (locations #191 and #194) William James Hodson and George Crabbe (location #185) William Richard Parcell (2) Syndicate (location2 #248 and #249) As a result the only mine to remain open was the Kawarau mine #249 in Shepherds Creek. The Cairnmuir mine was closed down. |
