The Sailing Ship Piako - Captain Boyd. A handsome little iron ship of some 1,075 tons. She ferried settlers from Gravesend, London to Port Chalmers, Dunedin. Average duration of voyage was 100 days. She was built in Glasgow in 1877 by A Stephens. (see William Ball & family)
