Bannockburn, Sept 1884 :
The following were elected a committee to manage the Bannockburn Athenaeum :
Mess'rs J L Moore, Horn, J Shambrock, Jn Pryde, Wm Parcell, E Kennedy and D U McGregor - the term of office to be for one year. The officers elected were J L Moore, Chairman, Jn Pryde, Treasurer, and D U McGregor, Secretary.
It was decided to have a concert and ball to celebrate the opening of the new hall - it was also resolved that the hall be furnished, with stage, 4 doz. bracket lamps and forms.

Meeting of committee - all present. Mr Moore, Chairman.
Prop. by Mr Horn that the use of the hall be granted to the progress committee at the rate of 10/- per annum. Sec. by Shambrock - carried.
Prop. by Mr Shambrock that the letting committee consist of Chariman, Treasurer and Secretary and that they have the power to vary the charge to travelling companies according to the circumstances. Sec. by Mr Parcell - carried.
Prop. by Mr Parcell that the hall be insured as soon as possible for £150. Sec. by Pryde - carried.
The Secretary was deputed to ask a number of singers for their assistance at the concert.
Resolved that the charge for admission concert be 4/- + 3/- + 2/- for ball.
The Secretary was directed to have 250 tickets printed, 150 at 4/- plus 100 at 3/- and distribute them to parties likely to sell the same.
Resolved that next meeting of committee be held on Friday 19th inst.
A vote of thanks to the chair concluded the business.
