2303 | c1901 | Mine location. | The exact location of this mine is unknown but the coal seam worked formed part of the Cairnmuir seam. The pit may well have been situated approx 100m north of the Cairnmuir Mine (location #188) |
2304 | c1901 | General note. | There is very little information available about this pit. It is mentioned along with it's location in the NZ Geological Survey report 94 of 1986. The location shown in this report puts it on the same location as locations #186 and #187 which seems unlikely as there are no visible signs of coal outcrops having been worked in this area. It seems that the total output of the mine was around 16 tonnes of coal. |
