2305 1889 Mine location. The mine was located on the lower Bannockburn Creek, approx 1.6 km from the Kawarau River, approx 0.6 km upstream of the confluence with Shepherds Creek, on the true right bank. No trace of the mine now exists.
2306 1889 Naming of the Cairnmuir seam. It appears that Mr Ridland gave the name Cairnmuir to this seam of coal after he discovered it in location #499.
2307 1891 Ridland and Anderson coal lease In July of 1891, A F Ridland and W Anderson took up a coal lease on the eastern side of the Bannockburn Creek, opposite the junction with Shepherds Creek.
2308 1893 The mine is producing coal. In May Mess'rs Anderson and Ridland were producing coal from their 'Cairnmuir' mine.
2309 1893 Change of shareholding. George Wellington Goodger purchased Andrew Ridlands share in the coal pit.
2311 1895 in October, Mr William Richard Parcell (2) purchased George Goodgers share in the mine. in October, Mr William Richard Parcell (2) purchased George Goodgers share in the mine.
2313 1895 Late in the year, Jacob Crow purchased MR W R Parcell's share in the mine. Late in the year, Jacob Crow purchased MR W R Parcell's share in the mine.
2315 unknown Mr Crow purchased Mr Andersons share in the mine At some stage it appears that Mr Crow may have purchased Mr Andersons share in the 'Cairnmuir' coal pit, making him the sole proprietor.
2316 1897 The mine is closed Jacob Crow closed his 'Cairnmuir' coal pit, probably because of the inability to handle the water in the mine.
