In his own words, he has 'whipped the cat' about this ever since. Mrs Jones then offered the property to William Crabbe for the same price and he agreed. It is not clear at this time where Mrs Jones went after this dwelling. |

When Richard Clark purchased they farm, they claimed that they had purchased the house only from Murray Rivers - which turned out to be untrue - however, Mr Clark let the Swain's use dwelling #206 as a holiday home for a number of years. The house had been very derelict when the Swain's first arrived. The family came from Dunedin and had a young family. It seems that Mr Swain may have been a carpenter or builder. The Swain's were involved with showing dogs. |

It was Mr Spears intention for the couple to sell dwelling #40 and to move into dwelling #206, however the couple decided to stay where they were and rent out dwelling #206. |
