3320 | 1876 | Location | On the southern slope of Slaughteryard Hill in Revell's Gully - directly opposite the Bannockburn Hotel (#115) |
3321 | 1876 | John Richards planted an apple orchard. | It appears that about this time, John Richards, the proprietor of the Bannockburn Hotel, planted an apple orchard (variety unknown) of about 30 trees. The only photographic record of this orchard is shown on photo no 7,13 which was taken about 1899. It shows some dead trees and horses grazing amongst the trees. Obviously by this time, the orchard seems to have been neglected. |
