3534 | c1934 | General notes. | Les Gordon employed George Burgess (dwelling #89) to build a new house for him and his bride, Emily Mary Manson. The house was constructed of red brick with a corrugated iron roof. The bricks were delivered from the Cromwell railway by Ted Lawrence using both of his Chevrolet trucks. Mr Gordon wanted to install a new electric range for his bride. However, Emily had no faith in these new appliances and insisted on having a new coal range installed instead. |
