788	1871	Building of the Carrick Range Hotel - originally in Quartzville.	In May 1871 John McMormick started building the first hotel and store in Quartzville near the Royal Standard Battery. It was completed in July 1871. A free ball and supper was held in the hotel in October - hosted by Mr & Mrs McCormick - to celebrate the formation of the new township of Quartzville.
789	1873	In March of 1873 the hotel and store was sold to James Hazlett.	In March of 1873 the hotel and store was sold to James Hazlett.

792	1874	Charles Peake purchased Carrick Range Hotel from James Hazlett.	Charles Peake purchased the Carrick Range Hotel from Mr James Hazlett. He extended the hotel and store to include a post office and hall. The complex became known as Peakseville.
793	1877	Part of the hotel moved to Bannockburn	In August, Mr Peake shifted part of his Carrick Range Hotel in Quartzville down to Bannockburn. I was relocated and rebuilt on the corner of Nevis Street (west side) and Terrace Street (south side). Mr Peake applied to transfer the licence to this new hotel, but the licensing board rejected his application. Charles Peake was now in the position of having a hotel in quartzville, the Carrick Range Hotel - Peakseville with a liquor licence and no publican, while in Bannockburn he was now the publican os his new Carrick Range Hotel, without a liquor licence. He leased the Carrick Range - Peakseville complex to Mr George Manson. Meanwhile he ran his Bannockburn hotel as a boarding house and hall. Finally the licensing board granted a liquor licence for the Bannockburn hotel.

805	1882	Arthur Smith is a potential lessee for the hotel	On June 13, Mr A Smith applied for the licence of the Carrick Range Hotel, however the licensing bench turned down his application. The reason given for not approving the application was that Mr Smith was a non-resident.

806	1882	William Goldsmith takes over the lease on Carrick Range Hotel	On August 10 Mr Goldsmith took over the lease of Mr Charles Peake's Carrick Range Hotel from Mr John Peake. A concert and dance was held to celebrate the event with 200 people present.
808	1887	Mr Charles Waide takes over the lease on the Carrick Range Hotel	On May 3, Mr Charles Waide took over the lease of the Carrick Range Hotel. Ownership of the hotel had passed to the Peake family after Charles Peake's death in 1885.

814	1895	Doctor Dutton held clinics at the Carrick Range Hotel	Doctor Dutton was a medical doctor who had a practice in Arrowtown but visited Bannockburn and held clinics at the Carrick Range Hotel. (see general information Folder #3, section 25 [medical notes] for details).
818	1897	Thomas Ellis takes up the lease on the Carrick Range Hotel	On August 1, Thomas Ellis took up the lease of the Carrick Range Hotel from Mrs Woodhouse. The lease was for a term of 3 years at a cost of £52 (fifty two pound) per year.
819	1897	List of Chattels	The following list of chattels is taken from the lease agreement between Elizabeth Woodhouse and Thomas Ellis dated 1 August 1897. The hotel consisted of eleven bedrooms, bar, parlour and dining room. Chattels : Bedroom: - candle stick and holder - wash stand - mirror - kapok mattress - iron bedstead - 2 pair of blankets - 2 pair of sheets - 2 flock pillows - white quilt - 6 piece toilet set - comb and brush - dressing table - lamp with shade. Bar / Parlour: - 1 form - 2 wooden chairs - 3 cane chairs - 1 couch - 1 cushion - lamp with shade - bell - glasses - coal scuttle - fly catcher - hearth rug - stove and chimney - 2 spittoons Dining Room: - 26 piece dinner set - 26 piece cutlery set - 3 pieces of coconut matting - lamp and shade - dining tables and chairs - 2 flat irons - slop bucket
831	1901	Carrick Range Hotel sold to Henry Thomas.	The three year lease on the Carrick Range Hotel expired. The hotel was purchased by Mr Henry Thomas, who may have purchased it from Mrs Elizabeth Woodhouse.
836	1901	Henry Thomas purchased the Carrick Range Hotel.	Mr Henry Thomas purchased the Carrick Range Hotel from Mrs Woodhouse. Thomas Ellis had been operating the hotel, but only on a three year lease.
837	1904	James Munro purchased the Carrick Range Hotel.	James Munro purchased the Carrick Range Hotel from Mr Henry Thomas. (A Mr Munro is said by J C Parcell to have been a brewer and partners with Harry Thomas in the Hallidays Hotel in Shepherds Creek)
839	1906	George Seatter purchased Carrick Range Hotel. The hotel is demolished.	George Seatter purchased Carrick Range Hotel from Mr Munro. At this time Mr Seatter was the publican of the Bannockburn Hotel. He demolished the Carrick Range Hotel.
