Maude was born in Nelson. She worked in her fathers drapery store until she married James Horn

Around 1900 James Horn may have moved to dwelling #105 to live with his brother Alexander and his family, after dwelling #82 burnt down.

Maude and James married in 1904 and Maude moved to Bannockburn

1564 1904 General Notes

James Horn employed Mr J P Parcell as the manager of the General Store. Mr Horn had many other business interests in addition to the store. He served on the Vincent Council for 15 years (1899-1914). He was also involved in many mining ventures in Bannockburn and the surrounding area. It appears that James's mother Margaret Hron came to live with the family in dwelling #105, possibly when her husband died. Shen may have also lived with Alexander and his family since 1896.
