1601 1936 Marriage of James and Marjory

On 24 Aug 1936, James Duncan Stewart married Marjory Gwenneth Robertson, daughter of Robert Robertson, storekeeper, and Lucy Margaret Graham. The couple moved to Scotland after the wedding.

1602 c1942 James and Marjorie return from Scotland.

It appears that about this time, James and Marjorie returned from Scotland to Bannockburn where they lived in dwelling #105 with Mrs Stewart's parents.

1603 1943 General Notes

The electoral roll of 1943 lists James Duncan Stewart as a miner living in Bannockburn. It appears that he spent some time in Glenorchy mining for scheelite. Later, with Joe Holm of Cromwell as a partner, James Stewart went gold mining in the Kawarau River, on the Cromwell or left bank.
