On 8 Nov, it appears from the land certificate that Mr J Radford purchased the property from the crown. The Radford family may well have come to Bannockburn from Waipiata (mentioned in school records as the previous location of the family) About this time it appears that Mr Radford had the original part of dwelling #109 (constructed of timber and iron) shifted from the Kawarau Gorge on a sledge to it's present site.
