1828 1865 Birth of George Seatter

George Seatter was born in Whitehall village, Stronsky, Orkney Islands. He was the second child of William Fergus Seatter and Ann Davidson Brodie. William was a farmer.

1829 1869 Birth of Mary Bell Johnston

Mary Bell Johnston was born in Waiwera, Clutha. Her parents were John Johnson and Elizabeth Bell who were farmers.

1830 1871 George appears on electoral roll.

George Seatter appears on the electoral roll. He may have come out to New Zealand with or at the same time as other family members who went farming on the Crown Terrace at Arrowtown. he may have worked there as a farm labourer.

1831 1893 Marriage of George and Mary Bell

George Seatter married Mary Bell Johnston at Waikaka on 12 July 1893. George was a mail run driver at the time.

1832 1897 George was the licencee of the Antrim Arms Hotel.

George Seatter was the licencee of the Antrim Arms Hotel at Frankton near Queenstown.

1833 1902 George Seatter purchased the Bannockburn Hotel.

In May of 1902, Mr George Seatter and family moved to Bannockburn and purchased the Bannockburn Hotel (location #115) from Mr J D Parsons.

1834 1906 George purchased the Carrick Range Hotel.

George purchased the Carrick Range Hotel and demolished. he may have used the materials to extend the Bannockburn Hotel.

1835 1908 George Seatter sold the Banockburn Hotel to Mr Donald McRae.

George Seatter sold the Banockburn Hotel to Mr Donald McRae. The Seatter family moved to St Clair in Dunedin. Here George was the proprietor of the Ocean Beach Hotel.
