1943 1912 Thomas Lawrence and family return to Bannockburn.

Thomas Lawrence was working at the 'Martha' gold mine in Waihi when a strike broke out. In September, he and his family returned to Bannockburn, and to dwelling #126 which they rented. With the help of Mr James Horn at the Stone Store, Tom Lawrence got a job at the Caledonian quartz battery in Smith's Creek, Carrick range.

1944 1912 In October, Edward and Ivy were enrolled at the Bannockburn school.

1945 1914 Edward left school and went to work for his uncle.

Edward (Ted) left school and went to work for his uncle, Richard Toms, who had a coal pit at the Nevis. Ted trucked out the coal for only board and keep. After 6 weeks he was laid off due to the dredge which used the coal being closed down. Ted then got a temporary job in Wanaka as a groom for Sit Percy Sargood on Wanaka Station. He had hoped to get a permanent job as a ploughman but he had to help milk their cows, a job he hated. The Bob Toms who was a carter in Bannockburn asked him to come and work for him. Wanaka Station was sorry to see him go. (see dwelling #449)

1946 c1920 Ted Lawrence returned to Bannockburn and came back to dwelling #126 to live with his parents.

Ted Lawrence returned to Bannockburn from working in various jobs in the Nevis, and came to live with his parents in dwelling #126.

1947 1923 Marriage of Edward Lawrence and Jane Mary Parcell.

On 27 Jun 1923, Edward Thomas Lawrence married Jane Mary Parcell, daughter of Henry Clyde Parcell and Mary Abigail Crow. The couple were married in the Bannockburn Methodist church (location #93) and made their home in dwelling #126.

1948 1924 Marriage of Francis Elizabeth Lawrence and James Smith Hodson.

Frances Elizabeth Lawrence married William James Smith Hodson, son of John Hodson (1). They were married in the Bannockburn Presbyterian church (location #58). Rachel Short of dwelling #28 was the bridesmaid, and she gave the couple a teapot as a wedding present. The teapot is now owned by Mrs Mary Valk. Miss Short received a gold chain with a pink pendant as a gift, and this chain is now owned by Mary Valk's daughter Jane.

1949 c1929 Mr & Mrs Thomas Lawrence moved back to Bannockburn from Arrowtown.
