Right bank of Bannockburn Creek, eastern side of the inlet, opposite Slaughteryard Hill. Very close to the Excelsior No 2 Coal Mine (Parcell & Gibson) approx 0.8 km from the Kawarau River.

Ah Kew listed in Stones directory as being a gardener and herbalist - Chinese doctor living in Cromwell. He also acted as an interpreter.

2334 1893 Death of Ah Kew

Ah Kew died on 26 Oct 1893. He was accidentally poisoned after eating pigs trotters that he had cooked for himself. He is buried in the Cromwell cemetery.
