2464 1884 General notes.

A second public school building was constructed with timber framing and weatherboard cladding, having a corrugated iron roof. The locals were disappointed that it was not built of stone. The new infant room was 18ft by 18 ft (5.5m by 5.5m), smaller than before. Voting for the present site over the township was won by 14 votes to 9. The new school was, like the first one, very inadequate.

2465 1886 General notes.

There were 54 infant pupils crowded into one room, and the committee complained to the education board. The roll was increasing at an unprecedented rate.

2466 1888 General notes.

The roll reached it's maximum of 108 children in 1888. The education board then extended the building to accommodate 140 children, however from this period the roll went steadily into decline.
