The McKenzies from Hawkesburn had seven girls at school (c1890). Their father, possibly Hugh McKenzie, drove them into school in his wagon on Monday morning and took them home again on Friday. During the week they lived in one of Charlie Lawrences huts. (possibly dwelling #218) One of the girls may have been Janet McKenzie, born 25 Aug 1873, enrolled at B-B School 10 Aug 1886 and left the area 27 Jun 1890. |
