2669 c1930 The Toms family move to dwelling #237.

About this time, Robert Toms sold dwelling #228 with the surrounding orchard to Mr D J Donaldson. The Toms family mover to dwelling #237 which Robert Toms had built with sun dried mud bricks. The material for the bricks was obtained from close by the site. The timber and iron was brought back from Dunedin, having been part of the exhibition buildings of the New Zealand and South Seas exhibition. The mud-brick wall were initially not plastered, but in later years were rough cast with cement plaster. Robert Toms continued to farm dairy cows and run his orchard.

2670 c1932 Roberts mother came to live in dwelling #237

Robert Toms mother, Mrs Letitia Mary Ann Toms had been living in dwelling #449. However, with failing health she moved to dwelling #237 and was cared for by Robert's wife Maggie.

2671 1934 Letitia Toms became unwell.

Mrs Toms had set out on foot to visit her daughter Emma Parcell who lived in dwelling #239 on the Bannockburn-Nevis Road next to Shepherds Creek, near Adam's Gully. She never arrived as planned and was found wandering out towards the Kawarau Station in a confused state. Mrs Toms was admitted to Cromwell hospital for observation.

2672 1934 Death of Letitia Toms.

On 19 June 1934, Letitia Mary Ann Toms died in Cromwell hospital at the age of 89 years. She was buried in the Cromwell cemetery with her husband Thomas Toms (1)

2673 1935 Theodore Toms purchased the farm and dwelling #237.

Robert Toms and his family moved to Dunedin. Dwelling #237 and the dairy farm was sold to Robert's nephew Theodore Henry Toms.
