Shepherds Creek. In the western slope of the terrace between Pigroot and Adams Gullies. The outline of the portal is still visible however it is half buried and flooded. It is approx 20m north of location #249. The tiphead / loading bank is still visible. The main drive was a 65m decline at a grade of 1 in 4. A survey plan was produced by Mr G A Balikie (surveyor) of Gore in 1943. It appears from this plan that location #248 is connected to location #384 which may have been used as a ventilation drive.
