2842 1917 Formation of the Bannockburn Coal Company.

The owners of the three remaining working coal mines in the area decided to amalgamate and form the Bannockburn Coal Company. As a result, the only mine to remain working was the Kawarau mine, which had previously been known as the Shepherds Creek No 2 mine (location #249) The company directors were : William Robertson & Party (previously owned locations #191 and #194) William James Smith Hodson and George Crabbe (previously owned location #185) William Richard Parcell & syndicate (previously owned location #248 and #249)

2843 1920 Bannockburn Coal Company was wound up.

In April of 1920 the Bannockburn Coal Company was wound up and the assets were purchased by the J A Gordon syndicate.
