On April 25 1923, the unveiling ceremony for he Bannockburn War Memorial took place. The order of service was: The National Anthem, Hymn No 1, Unveiling ceremony - carried out by James Ritchie, Chairman of Vincent County and local run holder (Carrick Station), Prayer of Thanksgiving by Rev. R McGregor, Dedication by the Rev. W P Rankin, Laying of wreaths: - Citizens E.P. - Mrs J Parsons, - Returned soldiers - Mr W Lynn, - Relatives & friends, - School children - Miss Eileen Parcell, Miss Mary Ray, The National Anthem, Hymn No 2, Addresses read by: - Rev. W P Rankin, - Rev. Paul, - Rev. Mr Raymond Arthur Irving constructed the concrete post and netting fence around the memorial.

3124 c1935-1940 Garden planted around the memorial.

A man known as 'Vannie Murray' planted the gargen around the memorial, and looked after it. (per Mrs Mary Valk - no record in Stones directory)
