The Bannockburn Defence Rifle Club held their annual competitions on the rile range (location #209). Most events were shot off from distances of 300, 500 and 600 yards, firing towards the western Carrick Range. These Butts or firing positions were within the area of the rifle range. However, for some events a range of 1000 yards was required and location #391 was used. This meant firing across Birnie's Gully to the terrace at the western end of the rifle range. |
