3369 c1943 Location

Lower Bannockburn Creek, old Cairnmuir Road (now Bannockburn Inlet) under Lake Dunstan. Approx 160m (500ft) south of the boat ramp.

3370 c1943 Construction details.

The culvert was constructed using parts from an unknown gold dredge. Three sections of steel trommel screen were used as culvert pipes.

3371 various General notes.

Up until 1943 the old Cairnmuir Road had a ford crossing Bannockburn Creek. The Vincent County Council then installed the culvert. Around 1947 the culvert was washed away by a flood. In 1948, the road was realigned further south on higher ground, with a new bridge (location #400) constructed over the Bannockburn Creek.
