1000 | 1904 | Mr Robert Ray purchased dwelling #68. |
Robert Ray was one of Charles Ray's sons. A house was required for Robert's Aunty, Miss Isabella McWhirter, who had shifted to Bannockburn. Charles Ray already owned dwelling #69, so was legally unable to purchase a second dwelling. Robert Ray was by now of age, so dwelling #68 was purchased for his Aunty, who was also not legally allowed to purchase property due to her sex. The property was purchased from the estate of Mr D U McGregor. Robert Ray does not appear to have lived in the property - he probably lived with his parents in dwelling #69. |
