Charles Ray worked in the office of Scotts Coal Company in Cromwell. He may well have looked after the accounts for Scotts bakery of Cromwell as well. He drove his pony and trap to Cromwell each day.

1011 1924 Death of Charles Ray.

Charles ray died in 1924 at the age of 78 years. He is not buried in the Cromwell cemetery, but may well be buried in the Green Island cemetery in Dunedin. His estate was left to Jane ray, and his son Robert Marshall Ray. Jane Ray may have remained in dwelling #68 after her husbands death.

1012 1925 Death of Robert Ray.

Robert Ray died in Clyde at the age of 45 years.

1013 c1925 General Notes

James Frederick Ray and his family move from dwelling #69 and Bannockburn, to Green Island in Dunedin. By this time dwelling #68 was probably becoming very run down, while dwelling 69 had been upgraded over the years. Mrs Jane Ray may well have moved into dwelling #69 after the departure of James Frederic Ray and his family. Dwelling #68 may have been left empty at this stage.
