| 1276 | Death of Bill Minchie. |
Bill Minchie committed suicide in 1953 by hanging himself from the branches of a large Macrocarpa tree which grew behind his hut. His body was discovered by a school girl named Carmen Stiglish (see dwelling #50). The general store owner (Jim Stewart) thought it odd when Bill had not come in for his usual order of tobacco - he had only purchased enough to last him until Thursday night - the night he hung himself. |
